 Legalities

In the United States, handwriting is considered to be public domain and therefore does not fall under the realm of Constitutional protection. Handwriting cannot determine age, race, sex, handedness or religious preferences.  Thus, it is non-discriminatory.

In United States v. Mara. 410 U.S. 19, 41 LW4185 (1973), the Supreme Court stated:  "Handwriting, like speech, is repeatedly shown to the public and there is no more expectation of privacy in the physical characteristics of a person's script than there is in the tone of his voice."

However, if a person utilizes handwriting in an attempt to manipulate others against their will; to seek revenge or attempt to humiliate or harm someone in any way;  to deliberately and intentional falsify their signature or other legal documents; or attempts to defame or damage the character of another person, this could result in a legally liable situation.
